Cell phone harassment is the newest form of harassing and bullying. In this article we will talk about 4 ways that is being done and steps you can take to prevent it from happening to you. Today close to 200 million people have cell phones in the United States.

Some of these are for convenience and just used on a part-time basis. Other people rely on their cell phone to help them in their daily careers. These would include, but not limited too, outside salespeople, service repair people, television reporters, politicians, business people, taxi drivers, teenagers and parents, an on and on the list goes. So what do you do if you receiving harassing phone calls on your cell phone? What is the best way to handle that? Here are four tips that you can use if you receiving cell phone harassment.

1. First of all you have to define the meaning of harassment. Generally, from a legal standpoint, the intent of the call is what makes it a harassing. If you are threatened, or feel threatened, in any way this could be a harassing call.

It varies from state to state, but even one incident of harassment where you feel threatened, could be enough for you to contact the police. 2. To help stop, the person who is harassing, you should contact and file a police report. From a personal safety standpoint, this makes sense, because the police can be there to help protect you.

Because most cell phone companies will not reveal customer information sometimes it is difficult to find out who is harassing you even. The police can be helpful and you can even go as far as hiring a private investigator to find out where the calls are coming from. 3. Today people text message as much as they talk on their cell phone. Teenagers do a lot of text messaging, and this has brought out a new form of harassment known as cyber bullying.

This has become a popular form of intimidation. If you feel your teenager is being threatened in any way you can contact the police. You can also disable the text message feature for a number of days and see if that helps stop the bullying. 4. Much like e-mail spam has been outlawed today, text messaging spam is illegal as well. You should contact your cell phone provider if you are receiving text messages that you do not approve of.

You can also file a report with the Federal Communications Commission. This is 4 things you can do if you are being harassed by cell phone. Is important that you act swiftly and that you do not just ignore any harassment.
